PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona Suns announced Friday that they have traded for the returning player rights to Sean Marshall.
The Suns land Marshall from the Westchester Knicks in exchange for two third round picks in the 2017 NBA G League Draft (overall pick Nos. 59 and 60).
Marshall has had an illustrious international career and is currently a member of the Eskişehir Basket in Turkey. Already in season, the 6-foot 6-inch 210-pound guard has averaged 10.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in two games this year. Last season for the same team, Marshall led his squad in scoring with 18.3 points per game on 56.4 percent shooting. He also averaged 4.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 32.7 minutes per game, appearing in 39 contests in 2016-17.
The 32-year-old has played nine years overseas, making stops on the JL Bourg Basket in France, the Telekom Baskets Bonn in Germany, the Trabzonspor in Turkey, the Aliağa Petkim in Turkey,Erdemirspor in Turkey, the JDA Dijon Basket in France, and the Aris BC in Greece.
Undrafted out of Boston College in 2007, Marshall has played two years in the NBA G League, most recently with Westchester in 2015-16. That year he averaged 11.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 30.8 minutes per game.
Also playing for the Sioux Falls Skyforce in 2010-11, Marshall has averaged 11.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 70 career NBA G League games (20 starts).
The Suns now have four picks in the 2017 NBA G League Draft (Nos. 1, 6, 11 and 35).
