PRESCOTT VALLEY – The Denver Nuggets have signed Northern Arizona Suns forward Johnny O’Bryant to a 10-day contract, the team announced today.

O’Bryant is the first Suns’ player to earn a GATORADE Call-Up in team history.

The 6-foot 9-inch, 257-pound forward is the 11th D-League player to get called up this season, and it marks the league’s 13th GATORADE Call-Up on the year.

O’Bryant will wear No. 9 for the Nuggets, and will be available for Thursday’s game against Phoenix.

He is now one of two former Northern Arizona players who are currently on a NBA roster, as Derrick Jones Jr. is with the Phoenix Suns. NAZ is one of nine teams in the D-League to have a player get a GATORADE Call-Up this season.

O’Bryant joins his third NBA team in his career. He was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round of the 2014 NBA Draft with the 36th overall pick. There he played 100 games (19 starts) over the course of two seasons for Milwaukee, averaging 3.0 points and 2.4 rebounds in 12.3 minutes per game.

He joined the Washington Wizards in September of 2016, where he played in four preseason games.

The Louisiana State product was most recently on the NAZ Suns’ squad. He started all 24 games for the Suns, averaging 18.4 points on 46.0 percent shooting and 8.6 rebounds in 32.2 minutes per game.

O’Bryant had 10 double-doubles on the season for the Suns, earned an honorable mention at the Showcase, and was named the D-League Performer of the Week for games played from Jan. 9-15.
