PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. – The Phoenix Suns announced Saturday that they have re-assigned Derrick Jones Jr. to the Northern Arizona Suns.
Jones makes his third trip to Prescott Valley this week, as he was assigned to Phoenix’s NBA G League affiliate on Tuesday, recalled on Wednesday, re-assigned on Thursday and recalled again on Friday.
This is Jones’ third assignment of the season and the ninth of his career.
The 6-foot 7-inch, 195-pound forward is expected to play tonight for Northern Arizona as they take on the Iowa Wolves at the Prescott Valley Event Center during the team’s Breast Cancer Awareness Night at 7 p.m.
Playing for the NAZ Suns on Thursday, Jones tallied 11 points, three rebounds and three assists in a 141-140 win over the Wolves.
The UNLV alum played two minutes for the Phoenix Suns against the Orlando Magic in last night’s game. It was his fifth game of the season for Phoenix, where he has tallied seven points and three rebounds over the combined contests in 27 total minutes.
